About Shandong Jianzhu University
Shandong Jianzhu University (SJU), founded in 1956, is located in Jinan, a famous historical and cultural city and the capital of Shandong Province. The university has developed into an applied research university focusing on engineering, characterized by the disciplines of civil engineering and architecture, with multi-disciplinary integration and coordinated development of various subjects including engineering, science, management, literature, law, agronomy and art. Covering the land area of more than 160 hectares and the building area of 700,000 square meters, the university consists of 20 schools (departments), 64 undergraduate programs and 4 research (design) institutes, with an enrollment of over 26,800 full-time students. SJU is the only university in China that serves the special needs of the country to cultivate doctoral talents in green architecture, the only university in Shandong that has passed the national professional evaluation (certification) for all civil engineering majors, and the first undergraduate university in Shandong in the national industry-education integration demonstration project. The ESI engineering discipline of the university ranks among the top 1% in the world, with architecture and civil engineering, two first-class disciplines in Shandong province. Architecture is listed as a high-level “advantageous and characteristic discipline” construction discipline in Shandong province. Civil engineering, building environment and energy application, urban and aural planning, water supply and sewerage engineering are selected as the provincial high-level application key construction majors. The majors of architecture, civil engineering, electrical engineering and automation, and environmental design have been rated as national characteristic majors.
